My regimen changes based on my hair needs. If my hair isn’t feeling the way I think it should feel, I’ll evaluate and tweek where necessary. This regimen is to give you an EXAMPLE of what a regimen looks like. This is what works for me! Learn your hair and discover what best fits you
- Wash with a sulfate shampoo twice a month, usually at the beginning and end of the month to get rid of product buildup.
- Prepoo hair with a cheap conditioner and/or oil(s) and finger detangle. Section hair in clips or twist (4).
- Wash hair in twist. Unravel and retwist each twist until entire head is done.
- Dilute all shampoo’s (sulfate/sulfate-free) with water in a applicator bottle.
- Apply the shampoo to the scalp and massage scalp with balls of fingers only to remove buildup.
- Allow suds to penetrate the hair shaft, use a smoothing motion to cleanse the hair shaft.
- Gently rinse shampoo from hair, trying not to aggravate the hair, this prevents tangle later.
- Deep condition after shampooing with a heat cap for 30mins
- Rinse conditioner and follow with an oil rinse or ACV rinse.
- Apply a leave-in
- Trims/dusting on a as-needed basis.
- Trying protective styles at least 3x’s a week.
- Moisturize hair with a refresher spray or heavy butter/oil.
- Scalp massages with a light oil at least twice a week.
- I use cleansing conditioner in between shampoo’s because they aren’t as harsh.
- Deep condition once a week.
- Protein treatment twice a month. (Always follow with DC)
- ACV rince twice a month.
- Hair is protected with a satin scarf and pillow case every night.
- I pay extra attention to my ends in the colder months using a heavy oil or butter on my ends at night and before protective styling.
